Ton Koopman’s tour through the most beautiful organs of Germany and the Netherlands for his complete Bach project continues here. These recordings from 1998 highlight the Orgel-Büchlein, a few chorale preludes from the Kirnberger collection and various sets of chorale partitas. They are performed on the two magnificent instruments of the Swabian abbey of Ottobeuren. Facing each other on both sides of the choir, their matching cases are absolute jewels of baroque cabinet-making.
