The great 1969 summit meeting between two Soviet giants of their instruments and one of the greatest conductors of his time, finally made available in a gleaming high-resolution remastering! The collaboration between David Oistrakh, Mstislav Rostropovich and George Szell sent sparks flying in this landmark version of Brahm’s Double Concerto. It is coupled with the concerto for solo violin recorded the same year and the third violin sonata performed with his long-standing chamber partner Vladimir Yampolsky.
