Gabrieli: A Venetian Coronation, 1595

A milestone recording of Paul McCreesh and his Gabrieli Consort & Players, the greatest specialists of the Venetian Renaissance repertoire, is made available digitally again! The program recreates the grandiose celebration of a doge’s crowning in 1595, with organ toccatas, full of pomp instrumental pieces and stunning polychoral sacred works typical of the Venetian school, mostly composed by the Gabrielis, Andrea and his nephew Giovanni.
