Ton Koopman is one of the most influent Baroque musicians of his time. Since he began his career in the 1970s he has been a leading figure of the Erato label for years, leaving a considerable amount of reference recordings from the great baroque and classical repertoire, and beautifully revealing lesser-known works (Biber, Forqueray) with the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra he founded. This 10-hours long collection gives a comprehensive overview of his legacy as a pioneering promoter of historically informed performance. Also included is the digital premiere of a 1994 recording of Schubert’s fifth symphony.
