Ravel: L’enfant et les sortilèges

Marking the 150th anniversary of the Maurice Ravel and the centenary of L’enfant et les sortilèges’ premiere. This enchanting opera, full of musical ingenuity was staged for the first time in Monte Carlo on March 21st of 1925 and is a compendium of Ravel’s art of instrumentation. A ravishing evocation of the world of childhood, owing a lot to the moving soprano libretto. 

One of the greatest modern performers of the main role, Colette Alliot-Lugaz perfectly embodies the mischievous child plunged into a mysterious universe of fantasy in which objects come alive, and animals are endowed with the faculty of speech. Armin Jordan teams up with a beautiful cast featuring notably Michel Sénéchal and Philippe Huttenlocher.
