Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, Johannes Brahms, Claude Debussy
Bagatelles highlights the absolute mastery of pianist Stephen Kovacevich in short delicate pieces by Romantic masters of the piano, like Schubert’s Ländler or Beethoven’s second cycle of Bagatelles, Op. 119. Kovacevich also teams with Emmanuel Pahud in a very sensual rendition for flute and piano of the Épigraphes antiques. Various pieces of this collection make their digital debut, such as a couple of waltzes of Chopin and the splendid Handel Variations of Brahms.
