Sergei Knushevitsky, Lev Oborin
David Oistrakh was not only the major violin soloist of the 20th-century, but also a very refined chamber musician, whose long collaboration with Sviatoslav Knushevitsky and Lev Oborin in the sometimes-called David Oistrakh Trio led to major recordings of the piano trio repertoire. In this newly remastered album, we can hear them perform two major works of early Romanticism. Oistrakh and Knushevitsky also team up with great Russian instrumentalists in the autumnal Schubert Octet.
