New release by the bandoneonist, pianist and composer Claudio Constantini.
For the first time, Warner Classics Spain will have a solo bandoneon record in its catalog, an instrument that up to now has been characterized by its inseparable ties with Argentine tango. But, far from having American origins, this instrument made up of wood, bellows, and reeds was conceived in Germany and was used just like a piano or a harmonium. Paired with the melancholic and piercing timbre of the bandoneon, Bach's music takes on a new dimension that until now is almost unknown.
A unique artistic personality, Claudio Constantini performs with "total elegance on the Piano and Bandoneon" (Chicago Tribune). He has appeared in over 30 countries around the world and, throughout his career, he has collected several accolades, including the Global Music Award in 2021 and a Latin Grammy nomination in 2019. In the words of Constantini, “Bach’s music achieves direct connection with the listener by means of its hypnotic perfection. And the bandoneon, that bears almost supernatural expressive capabilities, elevates the listening experience to a spiritual plane that I can only describe as pure magic.”
