Shum (шум) is a duo formed by Canadian-Ukrainian pianist Anastasia Rizikov and French-Russian cellist Lisa Strauss.
The word Shum, meaning "noise”, evokes the Slavic origins of the two musicians and the repertoire they champion.
Laureates (2023) of Gautier Capuçon's foundation, their album features an interesting eclectic mix of works including music by Fazıl Say, Myroslav Skoryk, Mykola Lyssenko, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Arvo Pärt - taking the audiences on a journey to the crossroads of East and West.
