Jean Mouillère was one of the finest representatives of the French school of violin. Having trained under the patronage of Joseph Calvet, founder of the famous homonymous string quartet, he developed a strong attachment to chamber music with the famous Quatuor Via Nova and led in parallel to his solo career. This album highlights this aspect of his activity with two romantic French quartets.
