Andrew Parrott founded the Taverner Choir, Consort & Players in 1973. The ensemble enjoys a reputation for pioneering work in period performance practice and for first-rate performances based on adventurous and uncompromising scholarship. The ensemble encompasses repertoire from over seven centuries, but is especially well known for its recordings of music from the pre-Classical era.
