Schnittke: Violin Concertos Nos. 2 & 3, Stille Nacht & Gradulationsrondo

Gidon Kremer shares a very close artistic friendship with Alfred Schnittke, as dedicatee of numerous works. He is still the only violin player having put the complete set of concertos on record, under the conducting of Christophe Eschenbach. Here are the second and third, coming with the digital debut of two pieces for violin and piano, including the strange Stille Nacht, in which the peaceful Christmas tune is suddenly disrupted by unexpected dissonances.
