The EP’s name, Adrift, reflects the human and natural experience of floating between control and surrender, a recurring theme in Jacob’s work that resonates deeply with his fascination with the unknown and origins of self. As with his earlier compositions, Mühlrad’s music in Adrift is not just about sound—it is about what lies beneath. “This EP is about returning to my roots and exploring early musical ideas. As a young artist, I thought that the things I initially made were immature. Now, looking back, they have a lot of raw energy in them. The EP is also inspired by nature, particularly the flow of the ocean and the way evolution unfolds—much like the journey of a composer over time.”
