MILAN MUSIC is pleased to release the soundtrack of BLACK MIRROR’s season 5 first episode, SMITHEREENS, music by Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Season 5 of the popular anthology series will be available on NETFLIX internationally from June 5, 2019.
In “Smithereens”, a cab driver with an agenda becomes the centre of attention on a day that rapidly spirals out of control. The episode stars Andrew Scott (Sherlock, Spectre, Fleabag), Topher Grace (Blackkklansman) and Damson Idris (The Twilight Zone) and seems to centre around the dangers of app addiction.
The sci-fi anthology satire Black Mirror will be back on Netflix on June 5th. As usual for the series, news is being revealed one by one, creating great expectations and buzz around this new season. The news that Ryuichi Sakamoto, composer of “The Revenant” and “The Last Emperor”, has scored the episode “Smithereens” has been heavily shared since last week.
Fans of Sakamoto will hear his signature style combining organic instrumentation, foregrounding the piano, with light ambient textures. The soundtrack includes 19 tracks, with one already out. “This is My Last Day 2” is a brooding, contemplative piece that slots in perfectly with Black Mirror’s cynical technological worlds.
