Crecquillon: Chansons et motets

Here is one of the very rare monographies dedicated to Thomas Crecquillon, a Flemish composer about whom very little is known but of undisputable talent, especially in polyphonic songs, here performed by the Ensemble Per Cantar e Sonar. Crecquillon’s works were so popular in Europe that they have been transcribed by famous composers. For instance we can hear in this recording arrangements for organ by the great Spanish composer Antonio de Cabezón, conducted by Stéphane Caillat.
