Firsova: Piano Concerto

Co-commissioned by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Elena Firsova wrote her Piano Concerto in 2020. It is a highly personal work in which the composer reflects on “the mystery and meaning of death … I would just say that in the Piano Concerto I focused … on life's problems and questions. At the end, however, the clock inevitably appears as a reminder that everything has an end.”.

This is the world premiere recording of the work, featuring pianist Yefim Bronfman, who has since performed the Concerto to great acclaim with orchestras all over the globe.
