Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue & Concerto en fa

Here is one of the earliest recordings of Georges Prêtre, originally for the French label Ducretet-Thomson, accompanied by the discreet but outstanding pianist Daniel Wayenberg, who passed away in 2019. Dated from 1960, it includes a gleaming performance of the Rhapsody in blue in the full-orchestral Grofé version and the Piano Concerto of the same period, the first piece Gershwin orchestrated himself.
