Johann Christian Bach, Georg Friedrich Händel, Heinrich Scheidemann, Johann Adam Reincken, Georg Böhm
This album offers a fascinating journey through the German Baroque, from the old master Heinrich Scheidemann to Johann Christian Bach via Johann Adam Reincken. The latter, son-in-law of Scheidemann and a major influence of the young JS Bach, composed a monumental chorale after An Wasserflüssen Babylon, here performed at the organ of the church of Noordbroek. The rest of the program includes harpsichord suites and sonatas by Böhm and Handel.
