We are celebrating the legacy of Michèle Auclair. A true prodigy of the violin, Auclair won the first edition of the Long-Thibaud competition before starting a very successful touring and recording career despite her discreetness and became a very esteemed teacher at the Paris Conservatoire. In one of her most revered recordings, Michèle Auclair teamed up with Marie-Claire Alain, then at the dawn of her stunning career to perform the complete set of Bach’s sonatas for violin and keyboard. Unusually, it is played at the organ, on the then brand-new instrument of Saint Augustine church in Deauville.
