Mozart im Orient (Inspiration)

Musical bridge between the cultures: Mozart, like many of his contemporaries, was fascinated by the Orient – remember his opera The Abduction from the Seraglio or the famous “Alla turca”. When French producer Hughes de Courson brought together Western and Arabian musicians for the daring experiment of his Mozart project in 1997, he created a luscious mélange of sensual Oriental colours and Mozart’s incomparable genius.
