Martial Solal was a true giant of jazz, fantastic piano soloist and sideman, and composer of iconic soundtracks. In the 1970s, at the apex of his career, Solal made a decisive encounter with Marius Constant, who introduced him to contemporary music and convinced him to compose classical pieces, bringing them a jazzy and improvised touch. Both collaborated on this beautiful album including a piano concerto (featuring drums and double bass) and Nuit étoilée in which Solal plays various types of keyboards.
