Till I Wake

Award winning pianist James Martin Bartlett brings to you an exclusive digital EP full of colourful music from across the world. Till I Wake lends itself as the title of this release, the composer Amy Woodforde-Finden had spent time in India and familiarised herself with the country's rich harmonies and poetry which became the piece's inspiration. This work along with Kashmiri Song are arragned by Stephen Hough. Deep River is a much loved African-American spritual written as a Jazz arrangement by Julian Joseph. Troubled Water by Margaret Bonds is based on the popular spiritual ‘wade in the water’ of which the melody is said to have been used by Harriet Tubman, who brought as many as 70 slaves to freedom.
