London Sinfonietta Chorus, Choristers of St Paul’s Cathedral
This recording, conducted by Terry Edwards, focuses on Britten’s choral production, including his youth masterpiece A Boy Was Born and the famous Hymn to St Cecilia (in which Britten really threw himself as he was born on November 22nd, St Cecilia’s day!). Also featured are two rarely recorded works, including the recording premiere of A.M.D.G., which Britten removed from his catalogue and never heard during his lifetime.
