Among the numerous choral compositions of Saint-Saëns figures the potent Saltarelle, portraying a village feast, and the beautiful choruses op. 68, simple and wonderfully harmonized. Both these works have been recorded by Jean Sourisse and his vocal ensemble, and are coupled here with other choral works from the late 19th and early 20th-centuries by Fauré, Ravel, Debussy and Chausson. Some of them are accompanied at the piano by Emmanuel Strosser and Claire Désert.
