François Couperin, Jean-Philippe Rameau, André Campra, Jean-Marie Leclair
With only a few days left until John Eliot Gardiner’s 80th birthday (April 20th), we focus on Gardiner’s major recordings of French Baroque music, of which he has been a relentless trailblazer throughout his career. This collection ranges from rare operas by Rameau and Leclair which he premiered on record, to the first modern rendition of André Campra’s Requiem and instrumental pieces by François Couperin.
