Schubert: Romantic Symphonies Nos. 1 & 8

Franz Schubert was only 16 when he composed his first symphony, which stands out for its melodic richness and rapturous orchestral colours. At once enigmatic and brimming over with tuneful melodies, his Symphony No. 8 was left unfinished and yet is one of the great symphonic masterpieces of the early Romantic period.
