Quatuor Pascal
Eight days remaining before César Franck’s awaited bicentenary! Here is a throwback to his major pieces, as Jeanne-Marie Darré and the Quatuor Pascal team up to play an historical version of Franck’s piano quintet. This work can be regarded as the first milestone of French chamber music, which was then the poor relative among the genres in France. Franck’s effusive piece (composed in the heat of an all-consuming love passion) has paved the way for an entire generation of French composers. This recording has been specially remastered in high resolution.
