The seventh edition of the Martine Géliot international harp competition will be held at the end of October in Fontainebleau. One of the most important harp events, it has been created by Huguette Géliot, mother of Martine, as an homage to her daughter who died at a very young age in 1988, while she was one the most sought-after players of her time. She left a few recordings for EMI France showing her undisputable talent, such as this album of transcriptions including classical hits from the Harmonious Blacksmith to the Sonata facile and Liszt’s Dream of Love.
