“Samba”, the second non-classical single by the vision string quartet, showcases again the creative, fun aspect of the ensemble – not something you would expect from a classical quartet!
Played completely with pizzicato, the track creates pleasure with this unique and characteristic wink, the ensemble is widely known for. After “The Shoemaker”, “Samba” is the second recording of this ‘other side’ of the vision string quartet.
We will release this single on 16 Oct, so only two days before the vision string quartet will receive this years’ OPUS Klassik, Germany’s most renowned award for classical music.
The quartet will perform “Samba” in the OPUS Klassik TV-show in German television (ZDF), accompanied by a string ensemble of Berlin’s Konzerthaus orchestra.
The vision string quartet says on the song:
“Our track "Samba" is a relaxed good-mood number in which we hold the instruments like guitars and play them without any bows. We have created the song in just one day - the initial motif as well as the theme were a very spontaneous idea, which then turned into a complete song within only a few hours.
In the beginning, he did not have a title – and just called him “Samba” during the rehearsals. At some point, we were so used to the title that we simply could not change it any more – so it has now officially called that.”
