Schumann: Scènes d’enfants, Scènes de la forêt & Intermezzi

The Intermezzi is one of Schumann’s lesser-known and recorded collections. An homage to Bach and the dance suite, this youthful cycle nonetheless boasts many beauties. It is performed with usual eloquence by Aldo Ciccolini, coupled with the Forest Scenes and the Scenes from Childhood. Dreaming, from the latter, is also included in an alternate version from 1968.
