Wagner: Siegfried-Idyll & Orchestral Excerpts from the Operas

Here is the second volume of our Furtwängler 78 rpm era series: a collection of Wagner’s most celebrated pages of his operas, recorded during sessions in Wien at the beginning of 1949. It includes in particular Siegfried’s Rhine journey and Funeral march from Götterdämmerung, the Ride of the Walkyries and overtures from Tannhäuser and the Flying Dutchman.
