Éric Heidsieck was only the second French pianist (after Yves Nat) to put on record the complete set of Beethoven’s piano sonatas, between 1967 and 1973. A composer he cherished among all, as he had already devoted early recordings to the challenging Hammerklavier and Appassionata. We release another volume of this collection (including the famous Pathétique), a splendid accomplishment worthy of the greatest pianist, and an illustration of Heidsieck undisputable musicianship.
