Marius Constant an enigmatic figure of contemporary music, defying any categorization. His eclectic approach to composition led him to explore connections between classical and improvised jazz, notably through his meeting the famous late-lamented Martial Solal, with whom he composed the fascinating Stress for jazz piano trio (featuring Solal, Daniel Humair and Cesarius Alvim) and brass quintet. This album also sheds a light on percussionist extraordinaire Sylvio Gualda, who teams up with the Labèque sisters on Psyché, and handles an incredible set of a hundred instruments from all origins in 14 Stations inspired by the Way of the Cross.
