Choir of the Belgian Radio, Paul Strauss
César Franck’s centenary keeps getting closer, and we go one exploring our rich catalogue of his work. Psyché is one of the true gems of Franck’s oeuvre, with its diaphanous instrumentation and ethereal choral parts. This album with the Orchestre philharmonique de Liège and the Choir of the Belgian Radio was the first ever complete recording of the work, including the sections with choir (such performances are still quite rare on record nowadays). It also contains the newly remastered renditions of the tone poems Le chasseur maudit and Les Éolides, to make this album a complete panorama of Paul Strauss’ talent in recording this repertoire.
