It includes a number of recordings that helped the composer to achieve international recognition as one of the great composers of the 20th century. The box includes the seven symphonies, nine of his tone poems (including Tapiola, En saga and Luonnotar, which is for soprano and orchestra), stage music (including movements from Pelléas et Mélisande), and other orchestral works (including Finlandia, movements from the Karelia Suite) and some lesser-known works, both for orchestra and for chamber forces.
