Camille Saint-Saëns, Jules Massenet, Charles Gounod
The bass-baritone José van Dam, one of the most eminent representatives of the Francophone singing school, dazzled audiences throughout the whole world with his irreproachable diction and amazing longevity. Particularly at ease with French mélodie, he recorded a praised collection of songs with Jean-Philippe Collard, in two volumes, the latter dedicated to the romanticism of Saint-Saëns, Massenet and Gounod.
