Beatrice Venezi, only 29 years old, is the most interesting young conductor in Italy. She started her musical journey as a pianist and then began composing which led her to discover what she calls her "inner necessity": Conducting. Today, Beatrice is internationally known and award winning example of the best of Italian art and culture.
Corriere della Sera included her in the list of 50 women of the year 2017 in the world who stood out for their professionalism and were revolutionary, resilient, nonconformist, forerunner, champion of creativity, femininity and innovative resources. In 2018, she was selected as one of the 100 Young People Under 30 to become leaders of the future by Forbes Italia.
She is Principal Conductor of the Orchestra Milano Classica and Principal Conductor of the Orchestra Scarlatti Young in Naples. She also conducted many other orchestras both in Italy and abroad, including: I Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra di Milano, Orchestra della Fondazione Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi di Trieste, Orchestra Filarmonica Campana, Orchestra Filarmonica di Lucca, Orchestra Filarmonica di Benevento, Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina, Orchestra of the Foundation Bulgaria Classic, Orchestra and Choir of the Teatro Bolshoij of Minsk, National Philharmonic Orchestra Odessa.
“I want to be the point of contact between the orchestra and the audience, keeping all their energy together. I want to demonstrate the modernity of tradition, fighting prejudice from the inside and from the outside. I want to reject all stereotypes, continuing to work so that classical music becomes synonymous with freedom and beauty, and not with boredom and constriction. (…) Everywhere I go, thanks to my profession, I think of myself as an ambassador not only for music, but for Italy, for culture, for visionary creativity and for Italian know-how, recognized the world over. Italy is this: a language that sings, a fun yet heart-breaking work, extraordinarily sensual, a country of tradition and creativity, of innovation and technique, in which every city has an excellent composer or musician that deserves attention, a record-setter in every place. A cultural heritage of intelligence and enchantment that is the only luggage I take on every trip around the world. And it is from here where “my journey” starts with a first homage, duly owed, to Puccini.” Beatrice Venezi
