This album gathers all the recordings Itzhak Perlman devoted Johann Sebastian Bach during his unrivalled career. It demonstrates the unique talent of Perlman in this repertoire, from the violin concertos recorded with Daniel Barenboim (with the participation of his friend Pinchas Zukerman on the double concerto) to the ones arranged from the harpsichord that he conducted himself with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and of course his iconic performance of the complete sonatas and partitas – still considered nowadays an absolute reference.
